Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) specialized in Neonatology to join our dedicated healthcare team. As an NP in Neonatology, you will provide comprehensive care to neonates in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Your essential role will involve diagnosing, treating, and managing medical conditions of neonates, while also offering guidance and support to families throughout their baby's journey in the neonatal unit.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct physical assessments and evaluate newborns' growth and development.
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses among neonates.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, monitoring results and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
- Administer medications and immunizations to neonates, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other medical professionals to develop personalized care plans.
- Educate parents on neonatal care, including breastfeeding techniques, administering medications, and recognizing signs of potential health issues.
- Provide emotional support to families of neonates, addressing their concerns and offering guidance throughout their hospital stay.
- Collaborate with social workers to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care upon discharge.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance neonatal care practices.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records for all neonatal patients.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and evidence-based practices in neonatology.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with specialization in Neonatology.
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience practicing as an NP in a neonatal setting.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
